A touching moment occurred when a gagged dog was finally fed after days without food.

Every day, numerous dogs roam the streets in search of food and shelter. Johnny is one of those dogs who appears to have no owner and spends his days waiting for compassionate people to pet him and offer him something to eat.

Although the staff at a bakery called La Espiga used to feed him and give him some of their products, unfortunately, the bakery has closed. Now, this loyal pup waits outside the store, hoping his friends will come by and give him a piece of bread as they did before.

It’s heartbreaking to think of the hundreds of dogs living on the streets, exposed to illness, disease, and harsh conditions, but there are always those who step up to help them. Now, people are being encouraged to either adopt or feed Johnny whenever they see him.

This faithful dog still waits outside the bakery, unaware that it has closed for good.

According to Amandi Rodríguez Maya, a Facebook user who posted in a group called “Perdidos de Tampico Madero y Altamira,” Johnny seems very sad outside the bakery, which has permanently shut its doors. No one greets him or gives him food as they used to.

The innocent canine waits or lies down all day outside the closed branch, hoping to be fed, but this will no longer happen since the La Espiga branch in downtown Tampico closed in mid-December 2022.

“His name is Johnny… They used to see him sleeping outside the Care with the Dog store in the market, but mostly, he waited outside the La Espiga bakery because he knew they always offered him a taco. Even in the rain, cold, or heat, the staff there would always come out and give him food, and now that they’ve closed, he still waits outside for his meal,” the post explains, noting that Johnny seems sad.

The main goal of the post is to encourage people who see him to offer him some food, as many were touched by Johnny’s story and feel bad about the situation he finds himself in. “If you see him around, invite him to eat. He loves little packages with kibble, and sometimes chicken is one of his favorites, but please don’t give him a bone—it can hurt him,” the post advises.
